RIVERKEEPER’s River Academy provides an opportunity for members of the Niagara River watershed community to complete training in stream science, watershed management, and riparian restoration. Academy students will learn through a series of rigorous, field-oriented class sessions as well as hands-on restoration workshops on three degraded Niagara River tributaries.
The River Academy is held in partnership with Erie County Community College, so both course credit and CEU’s are available to participating students. All students will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing the course.
River Academy will be held on Thursday mornings at ECC North campus and Saturday mornings at the RIVERKEEPER office and field trip locations. Courses run every week from January 29 – May 14, 2011. Students not seeking course credit will have the option of only attending Saturday sessions.
