General Tour Rules and Regulations
- All tour participants will be required to sign and submit a waiver prior to departure.
- We may reschedule or cancel a tour due to weather or last-minute staffing problems. No refunds unless Riverkeeper reschedules a tour due to staffing problems and patrons are unable to make the new date or Riverkeeper cancels a tour.
- We reserve the right to turn away patrons and their companions at any point in the tour for disruptive behavior at the discretion of the leader.
Paddle Tour Guidelines
- Paddle at your own risk.
- Wearing of personal flotation devices, properly fitted and in good condition, is MANDATORY. Refusal to do so will result in a participant turned away.
- Abide by all safety and navigational rules for boating on navigational waters.
- No infants or pets. No beginners. There will be no instruction on the operation of canoes or kayaks.
- There will be no comfort stations along the route.
- Bring along sun protection—hats and lotion— and hydration—water or sports drinks— and snacks.
Need to rent a canoe or kayak?
Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER, in partnership with Buffalo Audubon Society, has a limited number of canoes and kayaks available for rent. Rental is $20/person (in addition to the tour donation) and includes PFD & paddle. If you are a single rider, you may be placed with another participant. All equipment will be brought to site. If the limited supply of canoes and kayaks are unavailable, rentals are also available through Eastern Mountain Sports, Boulevard Consumer Square, 1701 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Amherst, NY 716.838.4200
