Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER’s Rain Barrel Donation Program with HSBC
One of the best ways to stop pollution from getting into our rivers is to stop rain water from leaving where it fell by collecting it, in Rain Barrels, from roofs and saving to water your gardens. Rain Barrels are one of the best ways to keep clean rain water out of our sewer systems, which can overflow into our rivers causing high bacteria counts and other unsafe conditions on rainy days.
Because Rain Barrels are so effective at stopping pollution,
Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER is now
GIVING AWAY FREE RAIN BARRELS to those who qualify!
To be eligible, you must have an external gutter system with a downspout to divert into the rain barrel!
Buffalo Niagara RIVERKEEPER’s priority sites are: high visibility sites and low income residential communities including: key public buildings, government offices, community gardens, schools and education centers in low income communities within the Buffalo and Niagara River watershed. Private, residential buildings are not eligible for this program.
We are currently out of rain barrels to be donated. Keep a look out on our website to see when we get more in!
